A mixed-use commercial development situated on a backland site. Just off of Curtain Road, and deep in the hipster heart of Shoreditch, the plot was accessible only via a narrow gunnel. The building now offers three storeys of Grade A office space across the lower floors, with a further three storey residential block comprising nine apartments. All of the apartments have access to a shared balcony overlooking the East London skyline.
As a hybrid building combining CLT panels and structural steel columns and beams, the exposed modern timber and steel engineering give the workspaces a contemporary, stripped-down feel, and sawtooth glazing maximises views back onto Curtain Road.
The residential floors are set back to sit in line with surrounding architecture, offering a discreet addition to the Shoreditch sky line.
